RocketPack Productions is owned and operated by JD Davis. JD has worked in video & film production for 25 years. This imaginative and creative video professional has skills in detail organization, use of technology, management of additional personnel, and working within budgets while under deadlines. A graduate of Manchester College this native Hoosier started shooting video in Fort Wayne in 1984. He then landed a full time videographer position with the production company he had interned with during college. While there, JD experienced a wide variety of industrial and commercial productions, including live broadcast remotes, industrial training, and educational programs. In 1988 he moved to another production house which worked more with advertising agencies and produced more commercials. These years gave JD invaluable experience with hydraulic dollies, camera booms, as well as helicopter mounts. In 1989 he attended the International Film/Video Workshops in Rockport Maine to improve his skills in lighting and directing.
In 1990, he married and moved to Indianapolis. In 1991, Steadicam certification in Santa Monica California came with equipment purchase by the production company he worked for in the early 1990's. In 1995, JD moved to the largest production company yet. While there, he advanced to higher roles with more responsibilities, until finally going out on his own in 2001.
Changes in technology has driven video production in two directions, higher quality formats, and lower costing technology. This has changed the final application of most of these programs from a playback copy, to streaming on the World Wide Web.
